Description

In 2004, Frijns Industrial Group Netherlands realized the construction of a silo and pipe bridge for co-gases of biomass in the clean coal gasification plant, Willem-Alexander, in Buggenum. Incorporation of biomass achieves a CO2 emission reduction of less than 22 percent, compared with 200,000 cars annually. The project included design, fabrication, painting, supply and erection of structural steel and pipe lines for the bridge and the supply and installation of a silo include support steel construction.

Specifications

A total of 62 tons of structural steel for the building of the pipe bridge. The construction was provided with a three layer coating system, 1200 mtr pipes DN350 for transport of biomass from the silo to the plant and a 400 mtr nitrogen pipe DN300. Delivery and assembly of the silo for the storage of biomass, with a diameter over 9 mtr and height of 29 mtr. The support steel construction and an access tower supplied with galvanized gratings and platforms with handrails. All welds of the complete pipe work have been X-rayed according to European Standards.
