ArcelorMittal produces stainless steel coils in various thicknesses at its facilities in Genk (Belgium). Crane tracks recently had to be replaced in one of its production halls. This was quite a challenge for Frijns Steel Construction, as the crane track sections had to match exactly so that the cranes could continue to move unhindered.

Supply and assembly of approximately 100 tons of crane track rails made from HEM 300 section. HEM sections were cut down the middle at the Frijns Steel Construction manufacturing facility. Plates were then welded in between the two halves to create a section height of 2 m [78 in]. This composite section was assembled overhead as crane track rails. Rails were then thermally welded.
